The Greater Zephyrhills Chamber of Commerce along with the Pigz in Z’Hills BBQ & Blues Committee are excited to announce the addition of a Cornhole Tournament to the 9^th Annual Pigz in Z’Hills BBQ & Blues Festival on January 19, 2019 from 10 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.

Generously sponsored by Advent Health Zephyrhills, and under the direction of Ryan Schwartzkoph of the Tampa Bay Cornhole Organization, the 2-player team – double elimination tournament will feature two divisions: The ‘Well-Seasoned Division’ for more skilled competitors is $40 per team, with a total payout of $500 as well as 1, 2^nd & 3^rd place trophies begins at 12:00 p.m.  A ‘Still-Marinating Division’ is available for recreational competitors and costs $20 per team. Prizes will include; 1^st, 2^nd, and 3^rd place trophies along with BBQ swag bags full of goodies and will begin at 3:00p.m. Pre-registration for both divisions will include a parking pass to offset the $10 event parking fee.

More than 12,000 attendees are expected

Zephyrhills Chamber Director Melonie Monson states: “We are thrilled to be adding this tournament to our already successful BBQ event. There is a lot of enthusiasm from locals as we have talked to many about this addition. More than 12,000 attended Pigz in Z’Hills BBQ & Blues Festival last year and we expect this cornhole tournament to add even more who will be excited to come spend the day in Zephyrhills”.

This year, in addition to our prestigious Florida BBQ Association BBQ competition, there will be a Kids Zone, Classic Car show, Business Expo, food and retail/craft vendors, and music from some of Florida’s top blues bands including 2019 headliner, Damon Fowler.

Pigz in Z’Hills is Zephyrhills largest event, and the signature event of the Greater Zephyrhills Chamber of Commerce. Funds received from this event help to support scholarships to Zephyrhills High School Seniors along with local youth groups and non-profit organizations in our community.
