The J. Ben Harrill Recreation Complex is holding registration now through January 9, 2017 for the 2017 Holiday Heat Youth Volleyball League spring season, provided by Pasco County Parks, Recreation and Natural Resources.
Players will learn fundamental skills and techniques, focusing on passing, setting, blocking, serving, receiving and the use of formations in a game setting. This league is available to boys and girls ages 10-16 years old. Cost of registration is $30, which includes a game shirt, an eight-game regular season schedule and an end-of-season tournament.
“The Youth Volleyball League is a recreational league that encourages good sportsmanship, teamwork, social interaction, physical fitness and teaches the fundamentals of volleyball,” said League Coordinator Ingrid Sedan. “We are dedicated to providing a fun and safe environment that will ensure a positive experience for everyone. Whether you’re a beginner just learning the game, or a seasoned player wanting to improve your skills, this league is for you.”
Teams are formed according to a player evaluation system. Player evaluation day is Saturday, January 14, 2017. Practices will be held on Wednesdays and games will be held on Saturdays. All games and practices are held at the J. Ben Harrill Recreation Complex gym located at 2830 Gulf Trace Blvd., Holiday, FL.
