Saint Leo University to Hold Acrobatics & Tumbling, Cheerleading Clinic

Saint Leo University’s new Acrobatics and Tumbling program will host an Acrobatics & Tumbling and Cheerleading clinic for girls ages 9 to 18 on Saturday, March 23.

The event will take place from 1:30 to 6 p.m. at the Marion Bowman Activities Center, 33701 State Road 52, St. Leo, Florida 33525.

The clinic will be tailored to all skill levels and will focus on acrobatic, tumbling and cheerleading skill sets. Athletes will receive hands-on instruction to learn proper progressions and techniques used throughout the sport of A&T and cheer from Saint Leo’s three experienced coaches. College prep athletes will learn more about the recruiting process and receive a campus tour.

The registration fee is $40 per participant. A 10 percent discount is available to current high school seniors and Saint Leo employee and alumni dependents by contacting head coach Allie Williams. For more information, email [email protected] or call (352) 588-7253

In July 2018, Saint Leo University announced the addition of Acrobatics & Tumbling, a discipline of USA Gymnastics. Acrobatics & Tumbling is the evolution of different forms of gymnastics and involves tumbling, tosses, acrobatic lifts, and pyramids. Teams participate in a head-to-head competition and are scored in six events, including compulsory, acro, pyramid, toss, tumbling, and team. Competition is planned to begin in 2020. Williams was named coach of the Lions in November.
