San Antonio Farmers Market returns September 8
The San Antonio Farmers Market is back, starting September 8! Sponsored by the Rotary Club of San Antonio, the Farmers Market will be held in the San Antonio City Park on the second Saturday of the month [September through May]. The market hours are 9:00 am – 2:00 pm.
The San Antonio Farmers Market is not only a great place to purchase local produce and goods, but also a place to enjoy the day with family and friends. This year, the Farmers Market will open its fall season with special performances by the Tampa Bay Ukulele Society (morning only). OneBlood’s Big Red Bus will be in the Park from 9 am to 2 pm. Blood donors will receive a free T-shirt and a wellness checkup (BP, cholesterol screening, etc).
This season, all sorts of wonderful things will be offered at the market and who better to buy them from than your own community members?
Many of our local vendors are confirmed: jams and jellies, honey, produce, home decor, “feed bag” totes, jewelry, handcrafts, quilts, bath & body products and more. Sarah and her Kids’ Table will be there with fun (free) activities. Other vendors are setting their calendars for their return. And yes, Mr. Jim will be serving up his famous hot dogs! Come join us for a great day.
There’s no better way to strengthen your local community than to shop and eat locally!
This Farmers Market is a fundraiser for the Rotary Club of San Antonio. 100% of the Club’s proceeds are used to support our charitable activities. For example, we award academic and vocational scholarships to local students, provide food bags to the San Antonio Elementary School, fund City Park upgrades, and even paid for the Bulletin Board in front of the Post Office. So, please support your local vendors and organizations by coming to the Farmers Market. And while you are there, drop by our Club’s booth and say hello.
For more information about the Farmers Market, please contact Winnie Burke, Chairperson, at (352)437-5161 or [email protected] The Rotary Club of San Antonio meets Tuesdays at 6:30 pm at the Tampa Bay Golf and Country Club. Visitors are always welcome.
