Residents encouraged to properly dispose of used sandbags

Pasco County Government is opening an east- and west-side sandbag station to help residents protect their property from potential flooding in river communities throughout Pasco County.  The county is also opening two sandbag disposal sites for residents to properly dispose of used sandbags.

The following sandbag-filling sites will be open daily from 8 a.m. until midnight, until further notice:

Sandbag Pick-up:

• Fire Station #17, 2951 Seven Springs Blvd, New Port Richey

• Dade City Police Dept., 38042 Pasco Ave., Dade City

Sandbag locations are self-serve and are open to Pasco County residents.  Sandbags will be provided, while supplies last, but residents should bring their own shovels.

Sandbag Disposal:

• Magnolia Valley Golf Course Clubhouse, 7223 Massachusetts Ave, New Port Richey

Wesley Chapel District Park, 7727 Boyette Rd, Wesley Chapel

*Sandbags should be disposed of through the proper avenues to avoid damage to storm drains and pipes, as well as to prevent draining issues and long-term property issues.
