The Hernando County Public Library System (HCPLS) has prepared exciting events for the spring. The public is encouraged to visit our branches for special and ongoing programming.

Spring recommendations from your library

  • Caregiver Tuesday – Tuesday, March 10 from 11:00 a.m.-12:30 p.m. at the East Hernando Branch (6457 Windmere Rd., Brooksville, FL, 34602.) Caring for someone with early-stage Dementia or Alzheimer’s? Feeling a bit overwhelmed? Join our caregiver support group for ways to cope.

  • Spring Break Crafts – Monday, March 16 from 2:00-3:00 p.m. at the West Hernando Branch (6335 Blackbird Ave., Brooksville, FL, 34613.) Celebrate Spring Break with a selection of spring crafts that are fun for the whole family to make! All Materials are provided. For kids ages 5 and up. Sponsored by the Friends of the Library of Hernando County, FL., Inc.

  • Author Talk with Jason Korsiak – Monday, March 16 from 4:00-5:30 p.m. at the Main Library branch (238 Howell. Ave., Brooksville, FL 34601) & March 20 from 2:00 p.m.-3:30 p.m.at the Spring Hill Branch (9220 Spring Hill Drive, Spring Hill, FL 34608.) Join local author, Jason Korsiak for storytime for adults with the book “Marvin Mac’s Bad Day.” It is a humorous storybook for adults about the worst day in the life of the unluckiest guy in the world.

  • “Bedlam” Movie Screening (WEDU Community Cinema) – Friday, March 27 from 3:30-5:30 p.m. at the Spring Hill Branch (9220 Spring Hill Drive, Spring Hill, FL 34608.) Filmmaker and practicing psychiatrist, Ken Rosenberg visits ERs, jails, and homeless camps to tell the intimate stories behind our national mental health crisis. This screening is brought to us by our local PBS (WEDU) station and Independent Lens.
