The St. Anthony the Abbot Knights of Columbus Council 6800 is pleased to announce that it had once again earned the distinction of the Star Council Award.

St. Anthony the Abbot Knights of Columbus Council 6800 Earns “Star Council Award” for Second Year in a Row

To earn the Star Council Award the Council must:

  • Earn the Columbia Award for well-rounded council programs
  • Earn the Father McGivney Award for membership growth
  • Earn the Founder’s Award for insurance growth

During the challenging year of 2020 Knights of Columbus Council 6800 has stepped up with a wide range of programs to assist various organizations in St. Anthony the Abbot parish.

As the early stages of the COVID pandemic made it impossible for church groups to gather, a member of the council took it upon himself to rewire the church with new conduit for internet so that council members could take turns live streaming daily and Sunday masses.

When only outdoor events were permitted with no more than 10 people members of the council supported the church by organizing drive-through blessings of mothers on Mother’s Day, drive-through Blessing of the Animals, and the special Divine Mercy Blessing on Mercy Sunday.

Council members are repairing and totally refurbishing one of the outlying buildings in the parish which will eventually be used as a meeting place for the council and for its highly popular Faith & Ale programs for men and Wine & Word programs for women.

Another organization that was assisted was J&J Homeschool program, the parish council Mardi Gras Fundraiser, and other fundraising programs that required physical labor.

The St. Anthony the Abbot council has grown exponentially during the year. Men young and old have expressed an interest in this vibrant organization. Recently, three new members were welcomed into the council. See photo attached.

Anyone interested in becoming a member of the active council should email thekofc6800@gmail.com. We meet on the first Thursday of each month. 6pm rosary; 6:30pm meeting begins.
