Sunday in the City: New Port Richey February 10

By Florida's Original NatureCoaster™ Posted on February 4, 2019

Sunday in the City  is an opportunity for the community to experience the downtown New Port Richey in a new way; a more relaxed, casual, family friendly day out around town. The next Sunday in the City will take place on February 10 and involves all the businesses that have Sunday hours.

Residents and visitors are invited to head downtown to shop, dine, explore, and experience all the City has to offer. Walking, biking, and golf carts are all great ways to reach the downtown district.

Participating businesses will be offering a variety of special menu offerings, drink specials, activities, and sales. There will be additional activities planned each month in future months as the promotion evolves. “The response we had at our first Sunday in the City was overwhelmingly positive,” says Lia Gallegos, Rock the Boat Productions Public Relations Director. “It was encouraging to see so many families enjoying a day out together and we really hope to see the trend continue every Sunday”

New additions this month include:

The West Pasco Historical Society is launching a new monthly rotating photo exhibit, Let Me Tell You a Story, that will be on display during every Sunday in the City. Five photos will be displayed around downtown showcasing New Port Richey’s past and will be placed so that the observer will be standing in the exact place and orientation when the photo was first taken. It is storytelling through historical photography. Each month the photos will be moved to different areas of downtown.

Love is Love Instagram scavenger hunt hosted by Pasco Pride in an effort to encourage residents to spend their time and enjoy a full day of the experiences offered Downtown. Full details for participation can be found here:

Wright’s Natural Market is also hosting their first Plant Swap. Participants are invited to bring 3-5 fresh cuttings or bare root plants from healthy, disease-free house plants and succulents to trade with others. Some plants and supplies will be available to purchase for those who don’t have plants to swap yet.

A new Social Issues Book Club is forming and will be meeting at Wright’s Natural Market cafe to choose their first books to read. Input is being requested from all interested attendees to help develop the reading list and choose a regular meet up time and location.
