Quinn Zacharias of Alachua County, FL will speak at this year’s 25th Annual Save Our Waters Week finale held at the Old Courthouse Heritage Museum, 1 Courthouse Square, Inverness, on Saturday, September 26 from 2-3pm. This event will be offered both live and virtually.

The 25th Annual Save Our Waters Week Grand Finale Program

Mr. Zacharias is an Environmental Engineer and Research Assistant at the UF Howard T. Odum Center for Wetlands. His “2020 Vision: Focusing on Florida’s Water Issues” presentation will address several hot topics in water resources including nutrient management, algal blooms, stormwater flooding/erosion, spring/groundwater protection, and coastline protection. These five issues are pervasive throughout the State of Florida and need diligent attention. Mr. Zacharias will be discussing and sharing the most up to date research on these topics.

Quinn will be graduating this fall with a Bachelor of Sciences degree in environmental engineering with an honor’s thesis on phosphorus management in the South Florida Watershed. He intends to start the graduate school program in environmental engineering next spring.

When registering, you will be asked if you prefer to attend the event live or virtually. Spaces for the virtual event are unlimited but in person, attendance will be limited to thirty participants.
