The Friends of the Community Centers, Inc. is a not-for-profit organization that runs the Circle of Friends Gift Shop in the Citrus County Resource Center, located at 2804 W. Marc Knighton Court in Lecanto. The gift shop is run by unpaid volunteers who donate all proceeds to the Meals on Wheels Program, which provides meals to seniors in need.

The Friends of the Community Centers Donate Proceeds from Gift Shop to Meals on Wheels

This year during “March for Meals,” the Friends were able to donate $1,881.67 to Meals on Wheels. This is less than their usual amount due to gift shop closures due to the COVID-19 crisis from March through October 2020. With this gift added to previous donations, the Friends have provided a total of $40,983.60 in extra meals for our local seniors.
