Two Free Florida-Friendly Gardening Workshops in November 2022

Palms in Central Florida

Citrus County Utilities Florida-Friendly Landscaping™ Program is offering a free gardening workshop on Tuesday, November 8, 2022, from 2:00-3:30pm. Palms are a prominent and often costly element in Florida landscapes. Selecting cold tolerant palms, providing the appropriate nutrients, recognizing deficiencies or symptoms of decline, and providing an appropriate control is essential when caring for your palm.

9 Principles of Florida-Friendly Landscaping™

Citrus County Utilities Florida-Friendly Landscaping™ Program is offering a free gardening workshop on Tuesday, November 22, 2022, from 2:00-3:30 pm. The University of Florida developed the 9 basic principles to establish a set of gardening practices which aid gardeners in creating sustainable and successful ornamental gardens. These practices allow gardeners to create beautiful landscapes generating little or no impact to our water resources. Selection of the right plant for the right location, efficient irrigation, appropriate fertilization, and responsible pest management are several of the topics discussed during this workshop.

Classes are currently held online. Please register at ccufflprogram.eventbrite.com to participate in the workshop. For more information, please call (352) 527-5708.
