The City of Brooksville’s Art Gallery Coordinator, Pedram Moghaddam, announces a “Call for Artists’ for the upcoming “Brooksville Equine and Beyond” exhibit.

Uptown Art Gallery Announces Call for Artists

Mr. Moghaddam invites artists to submit 3-5 pieces of artwork painted or created with
any equestrian subject matter. In years past and present, Brooksville has been known for
horses. This “Call for Artists” is in celebration of our noble steeds; to pay homage to our
beautiful Brooksville and its majestic horses.

While there is no theme requirement, the gallery would love any reference to “Equine” in your pieces as well as anything that relates to an animal, pet, in landscapes, flowers, or nature. Just work in the concept of “Equine/Horses”.
Pedram further urges artists to, “Go ‘beyond’ our noble steedsto recognize Brooksville as a place where many farm animals, pets, and woodland families live. Let’s preserve and protect it. When any of these creatures get in your path on your busy commutes, then slow down and possibly take a picture. As you take in this beautiful time, accept that you are one with nature. Take your preferred toolsthat make dark marks with you. These souls are the best models if we respect their space, slow down, and take it all in.

All forms of media are welcome. All artwork should be gallery-ready to hang, with a
wire securely attached to the back or bottom of the art; display cases are available to secure
smaller items. Artist cards should be attached to each piece with the name of the artist, medium
used and price; artists are encouraged to name the artwork after the inspiration. If the piece is
not for sale, that must be stipulated as well. Student work is welcome.

The artwork must be submitted during the week Monday, March 21, 2022 through
Friday, March 25, 2022, from 10:30am – 2:30 pm daily. The “Brooksville Equine and Beyond”
exhibit will run April 8, 2022, through June 3, 2022, and the kick-off reception will be held
Friday, April 8, 2022, from 5:30 to7:30 pm, music and refreshments will be provided.
