Vacancy on the Pasco-Hernando Workforce Board

Hernando County Board of County Commissioners is accepting applications from individuals qualified to fill a vacant Board Member seat on the Pasco-Hernando Workforce Board, under the category of Education, defined by Local Workforce Development Board Composition, Certification and Decertification Policy Number 91 (CareerSource Florida), as “representatives of entities administering education and training activities in the local area, including…a private education provider”.

Vacancy on the Pasco-Hernando Workforce Board

The Pasco-Hernando Workforce Board is a not-for-profit organization that serves Pasco and Hernando counties by administering local workforce development and welfare reform programs through State and Federal initiatives. The Workforce Board is one of 24 local Workforce Boards in Florida operating under the governance of CareerSource Florida, created in 2000 by the Workforce Innovation Act.

The Local Workforce Boards share a common goal of developing the State’s business climate by designing and implementing strategies to help residents enter, remain and advance in the workforce, with a focus on employment, education and economic development.

Applications are available at the County Administrator’s Office, located at 20 North Main Street, Room 263, Brooksville, FL 34601, by calling (352) 754-4002 or by visiting www.HernandoCounty.us/Committees. Applications must be returned to the County Administrator’s Office no later than 5 p.m. on Friday, July 31, 2020.

All applicants must be residents and registered voters in Hernando County. This is a voluntary, non-paid position and members of the Board are eligible to serve three consecutive four-year terms. The Board meets on a quarterly basis and the meetings are conducted via teleconference (at this time).
