VITAS® Healthcare, located at 3280 West Audubon Park Path in Lecanto, is hosting an event on Friday, September 4, 2020, to provide education and resources about Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia to citizens of Citrus County.

Vitas Hosts September 4 Dementia Education Festival

The VITAS Dementia Education Festival will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and be held outside to observe social distancing and other safe practices. A photo exhibit, sponsored by Coping with Dementia LLC, will showcase images and stories of more than 40 famous Americans who have succumbed to dementia.

Boxed lunches will be provided, and organizations from throughout the county healthcare system will host information tables about their services. The event is free and open to the public with all donations directly supporting nonprofit, Citrus-based Dementia Education Inc.

“This will be an exciting event carefully designed to protect the safety and well-being of our visitors while connecting them with this critical information,” explains Jennifer Bosak, VITAS director of market development. “The Famous Americans Dementia Education Photo Exhibit will be arranged throughout our Lecanto campus so attendees can choose to study the portraits up close or view while driving by in their cars.”
