Volunteer county court mediators needed, free training available

By Florida's Original NatureCoaster™ Posted on February 9, 2018

The Fifth Judicial Circuit is hosting a free “County Court Mediator Training,” sponsored by the Florida Dispute Resolution Center, during the week of March 26, 2018 through March 29, 2018 at the Citrus County Court House located at 110 N. Apopka Avenue, Inverness, FL 34450 in the Jury Assembly Room. The Circuit is looking for individuals to take part in this training and become a Florida Supreme Court Certified County Mediator in Citrus, Hernando, Lake, Marion and Sumter counties.

Once certified, a mediator facilitates communication between parties involved in county court cases. The mediation services offered in the Fifth Circuit are invaluable to the court.

If you are interested in becoming a volunteer County Court Mediator and volunteer in any of these counties, please contact Peter Spanos, mediation services coordinator, at (352) 540-6568 or [email protected]. The training is free; however, there is nominal fee for certification.
