Volunteers Sought for Hernando County History Museums

By Florida's Original NatureCoaster™ Posted on March 16, 2018

Do you love history?  Your help is needed just three hours a week as a tour guide.  Retirees are welcome!

The Hernando County Historical Museum Association has three museums; The May-Stringer House – a 14 room Victorian home perched on top of a hill overlooking the city of Brooksville with over 11,000 artifacts on display, The 1885 Train Depot was to be part of a railway system connecting travelers and freight from ports of Florida’s East Coast to the Gulf of Mexico, and The One Room Schoolhouse Museum – a representation of the first school built in the 1850’s by Fredrick Lykes, brings visitors back in time to experience a fun and interactive lesson while sitting at authentic wooden desks.

The Association is seeking volunteers to work as tour guides in each of the museums.

Visit our website www.hernandohistoricalmuseumassoc.com or call Mary at 352-515-3054 for more information.
