Voter Participation Center to Target Over 3,000 Pasco Voters
Brian E. Corley, Supervisor of Elections, has been notified by the Voter Participation Center (VPC) of their intent to once again target over 3,000 Pasco County voters with a voter registration mail campaign this month. Past mailings in 2008, 2012, 2015, 2016 and 2017 used erroneous data which created confusion and anger among voters.
“Voters who receive these mailings mistakenly believe my office is mailing them this information,” said Brian Corley, Pasco County Supervisor of Elections’ Office. “Many of those targeted are already registered voters, and they call my office because it arouses their suspicion about the security of their voter registration. Mailings like this create mistrust and further erosion of the confidence of voters.”
For the most accurate information, voters who receive these mailings can check their voter registration status at the Division of Elections website using this link: http://dos.myflorida.com/elections/for-voters/check-your-voter-status-and-polling-place/ or the Pasco County Supervisor of Elections’ office website: http://www.pascovotes.com/Voter-Registration/Am-I-Registered. Voters can also call our office at 800-851-8754.
“I am encouraging all voters who receive these notices to check their voter registration status before pushing the panic button, and advising them to contact these organizations directly with their grievances,” said Supervisor Corley. “We have dealt with the VPC in the past, and sadly, they continue to cause unnecessary confusion for the voters.”
