WellCome OM Integral Healing & Education Center is Taking Shape

By Florida's Original NatureCoaster™ Posted on November 9, 2017

WellCome OM Integral Healing & Education Center announces that the project is taking shape. The center will consist of three buildings nestled on six acres of land among beautiful gardens, pathways, and natural habitat to promote an Eco-friendly and sustainable environment.

The Auratoriom is nearly enclosed and all interior walls are framed.  Air conditioning and electrical work are beginning and interior materials are being selected and ordered. Materials will have zero volatile organic compounds and will include natural stone, a carpet tile that is extremely easy to maintain and resilient flooring made from cork, linseed oil and flaxseed!

“Visually the shape is now evident from road and reveals how the building will harvest rainwater and eventually solar with its inverted galvalume roof system,” said Darren Azdell, principal of OutsideIn Architecture. “The gull-wing shape of the roof will funnel water to two large cisterns on either end of the building which will then drain slowly to the internal gardens like veins in a leaf. The water is supplemented in the offseason by an irrigation well.”

The internal courtyard garden plants have been selected and are being cultivated off-site at the Auro Community Garden, a Natural Farm, and located at Moonlit Road Vineyards. “We will begin the processing of implementing a permaculture process (natural soil preparation) using the organics from the mulch mountain we have after all the infrastructure below ground work is completed,” said Mr. Azdell.

According to Mr. Azdell the project is getting a head start on rebuilding the environment and screening the project from the adjacent properties.

The perimeter will be planted with a Florida friendly clumping variety of bamboo which will grow quickly and provide a tall, natural and dense buffer. A plan is being implemented to manage the surrounding natural environment as well, thinning out non-native, dying or otherwise weak trees.

In addition, the Wellness and Demonstration/Yoga buildings are being fabricated off-site and will be brought in and erected in components like the Auratoriom.

The building foundations are in place and the finished floor slab should be placed at this writing. These buildings will have the same sustainable properties as the Auratoriom and will take advantage of internal views to the garden, natural light, and materials as well as screen the property from the adjacent property.

A greenhouse is being planned between The Auratoriom and the Wellness and Demonstration/Yoga buildings, which will be used for our hydroponics lab among other organic plants and vegetables and herbs which will be used in the demonstration kitchen.

About the Name WellCome OM

We chose the name of the center to express the essence of health that is attained using a holistic approach. As such, we work in harmony with and through the scope of universal, natural and evidence-based scientific knowledge together with the spiritual realm to allow for a complete experience in the quest for wellness.

You may note that there is an intentional addition of another “l” to the word welcome to reflect and emphasize our meaning.  So, the “well” will “come” “om” (remembering home).

Om, while not quite the word “home”, is a true spiritual home for many human beings. Om is a two letter word that actually has four syllables to be chanted and is highly symbolic in many religions and cultures throughout the world. Om is derived from ancient sanskrit language that essentially captures the feel and totality of life. The chant of om with its four sounds of a-u-m-silence, is a combination of sounds that when produced will vibrate several areas of the body. This chanting done repeatedly allows for a meditative state that can change the way one feels in a very positive way.

Please note that while we are expressing complete reverence for the symbolism of om, our center is open to non-biased spiritual expression with no expectations for the public to endorse the meaning or concept.
