Wildlife Park Plans Memorial Day activities for May 28
The Florida Department of Environmental Protection’s Ellie Schiller Homosassa Springs Wildlife State Park will offer special activities to remember and honor all who served our country on Memorial Day (Monday, May 28, 2018).
Park volunteer and member of the Crystal River Woman’s Club, Carla Nicklas, along with other park volunteers will be collecting supplies for Mission in Citrus Homeless Veteran’s Shelter in Inverness. They will be set up in the Visitor Center at Ellie Schiller Homosassa Springs Wildlife State Park from 9:00 am until 2:00 pm. Visitors and local residents are encouraged to bring needed supplies for the shelter, including food items, cleaning supplies, paper products, and personal care items.
They will also have notecards available for park visitors and residents to send thank-you notes to Citrus County servicemen and women.
For more information on Memorial Day activities, please call Carla Nicklas at (352) 257-1480 or the park office at (352) 628-5343.
