Will McLean Music Festival

The 33rd Annual Will McLean Music Festival, featuring more than more than 100 Florida acoustic musicians from across the state, runs March 11th – 13th at the Sertoma Youth Ranch in Brooksville.

The complete schedule of performers for the festival is available. The weekend event kicks off Friday, March 11th at noon with continuous music performances at five stages areas plus a variety of workshops. Winners of the 2021 and 2022 Will McLean Best New Florida Song Contest will be featured on the Magnolia Stage on Saturday, March 12th at 6 p.m., followed by a special tribute to the late Florida Artists Hall of Fame winner Frank Thomas.  

Friday night’s lineup includes the Julian/Cherkinsky Orchestra at 8:00 p.m., followed by Passerine at 8:45, Brian Smalley at 9:30, and Grant Peeples at 10:15.   Saturday night’s lineup includes Red & Chris Henry and the All-Star Band at 7:30 p.m., followed by the Florida Troubadours at 8:30, featuring Larry Mangum, Bob Patterson, Charlie Simmons, and Jim Carrick. The Lubben Brothers will take the main stage at 9:30, followed by Frankie J. and the Chicken Parade at 10:15.  

Throughout the weekend, festivalgoers can also participate in a variety of workshops set in the shade of the towering oaks. Workshop sessions include autoharp, banjo, a gospel sing, lead & slide guitar, harmony singing, harmonica, Irish/Celtic fiddling, mandolin, mountain dulcimer, musical saw, sea shanties, songwriting, and yodeling. It is an excellent chance to pick up pointers regardless of level of expertise.   The Will McLean Music Festival features outstanding original arts and crafts and a variety of delicious foods.  

Attendees may camp alongside performers for the weekend, or come for the day. Camping hookup (electric and water) is $30. Rough camping/tent camping (no hookup) is $15. Camping is first come, first served. Pets are welcome (on leashes). Attendees should bring chairs for a one of a kind experience of fun and entertainment.  

Sertoma Youth Ranch is located at 85 Myers Road, Brooksville, FL 34602. Weekend admission is $55 in advance (online only through March 5th). Weekend and single day tickets will be available at the gate during the festival (Check or Cash only at the Gate, no Credit Cards). Weekend price is $60 at the gate. Children under 12 are free. Daily admissions are $20 (Friday), $25 (Saturday) and $15 (Sunday). COVID: The festival is not requiring proof of vaccination or negative COVID test for entry, however, we strongly encourage the wearing of masks, especially in areas that are more tightly-packed, like the Magnolia and Cypress Stages. Masks are also recommended when visiting the public restrooms.
