Internationally renowned marine life artist and environmentalist, Wyland, will be returning to the Homosassa Springs Wildlife State Park on Sunday, May 6, 2018 to restore the “Manatee Sanctuary” mural (Whaling Wall #86) on the South side of the Visitor Center. The mural wraps around the back corner (West side) of the building. He is famous for painting 100 Whaling Walls around the world. Our mural is the first mural he worked on with Guy Harvey. It features nine life-size manatees and fish in a spring environment. The mural was originally painted in October 2000. Thousands of people came out to meet and watch Wyland.

Wyland always thought big. And he never stopped. Today, the Wyland name has become synonymous with the new generation of awareness about environmental conservation. Through his Wyland Foundation, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, he is dedicated to promoting, protecting, and preserving the world’s ocean, waterways, and marine life. The foundation encourages environmental awareness through educational programs, public arts projects, and community events.
