Zephyrhills Chamber Awards 7 Scholarships

The Greater Zephyrhills Chamber of Commerce gave $3,500 in scholarships to 7 Zephyrhills High
School Seniors at the Pasco Education Foundation online scholarship ceremony held on May 6 th , 2021.
Recipients of the Chamber scholarships are selected based on community service, presentation,
character and academic achievement.

Zephyrhills Chamber Awards 7 Scholarships.

The following students were each awarded $500 for the chamber Academic and Vocational
Scholarships: Hailey Cameron; she plans to attend Pasco Hernando State College and major in Criminology.
Clayton Cornelius; he is attending the University of South Florida where he will set his sights on a Masters in
Athletic Training. Melody Holloway; who will be attending Saint Leo University and major in Psychology.
Daisy Martinez; she will attend Pasco Hernando State College where she will major in Criminology. Gisele
Navarra; she plans to attend Saint Leo University and earn a Business degree. Jaiden Ryker; she will attend
the University of Cincinnati and focus on a degree in Law. Yahir Torrs; he is headed to the University of
South Florida where he will study science and the healthcare field and see where it takes him.
“These scholarships are made possible through the Pigz in Z’Hills BBQ & Blues Festival held each
year along with other fundraising done by the chamber,” said Melonie Monson, President & CEO of the
Greater Zephyrhills Chamber of Commerce.

“We love to recognize the hard work of wonderful students who have diligently served in our community and stand strong in the face of adversity,” said, Monson. “This year has been a difficult one for all our students but especially the seniors. We were excited to receive 17 applications and enjoyed learning about each and every one of them. The committee worked hard to choose the scholars who stood above the rest in both heart and courage. We are thrilled to be a small part in the advancement in these student’s futures and wish them well”.

The Greater Zephyrhills Chamber of Commerce supports a number of local youth citizenship, leadership and
educational programs throughout the year.
